ABOUT US
Alexander Lopez, is a Financial Controller with more than thirty years business experience across transport and logistics, FMCG manufacturing, recycling, packaging, automation, and commercial property management. His career includes senior roles in both Australia and Papua New Guinea, where he served as an accountant for the Electricity Commission and contributed to the development and mentoring of local staff.
Born in Argentina, Alexander migrated to Australia in 1975 at the age of eight. His family settled in Melbourne’s western suburbs, where he attended Hyde Street Primary School in Footscray and performed with the Hyde Street School Band at Western Oval. Alexander has maintained strong ties to the community throughout his life and continues to play masters level football as a ruckman for a local club.
Alexander began his working life in Melbourne’s west and completed his tertiary studies while employed full time. He earned his degree from Victoria University through six years of part-time study while raising a young family. Now, Alexander and his wife, Fiona, share a blended family of five children and five grandchildren.
As a finance professional, Alexander's focus will be on responsible fiscal management, reducing waste, and addressing regulatory pressures affecting small businesses and the housing industry.
He is passionate about community safety and the long-term implications of rising public debt for our future generations.
“For decades, the Labor–Greens alliance has taken Footscray and Melbourne’s western suburbs for granted, leaving communities feeling increasingly unsafe amid rising crime, entrenched homelessness, and worsening drug issues. At the same time, small businesses are struggling to stay afloat.”
“People are tired of feeling unheard. There’s a real sense that something must change, and that the West deserves representatives who truly feel the weight of the struggles people carry every single day and One Nation is the only party that can bring about that change.”
