Damien is a qualified automotive tradesperson and local small business owner who has lived on the eastern side of the Macedon Ranges since 1994.

Born in Sunbury to a working-class family, he is a local who attended kindergarten, primary, and high school in the Macedon Ranges. Alongside operating an automotive repair business in the past, he currently owns a small transport business and works in the construction industry.

He brings three decades of lived experience dealing with poor planning and a state government forcing its agenda on the electorate against community wishes. He understands the frustration of residents and small business owners who are tired of being ignored, simply because it has been a safe seat for a major political party.

Damien’s political awareness began during his apprenticeship as an automotive electrician. It was there he experienced Victoria's deeply flawed apprenticeship process, a broken system that, over 15 years later, is still delivering poor outcomes for hardworking small business owners and their apprentices.

He also witnessed firsthand the decline of Victoria’s manufacturing industry as the state transitioned from Australia’s industrial powerhouse to a service-based economy. This shift left working-class families behind, costing tens of thousands of jobs, including the closure of a local automotive component manufacturer that once provided a livelihood for many families in the electorate.

Damien welcomes the opportunity to work across the political divide to deliver equitable outcomes. He will put our community first, working to repair the damage politicians have caused to Victoria, getting the state back on track.

There is nothing he would love more than to hand over an electorate offering greater opportunities for everyone. By demanding better infrastructure and ensuring developments respect local character and wishes, Damien will fight for a better quality of life for current and future generations.
