Jason Taverna is a local business owner, husband, father and proud member of the Niddrie District. He employs local people and has first hand experience of the challenges faced by Australian small businesses.

While business has been an important part of Jason’s life, his greatest priority has always been his family.

“Family means everything to me. I’m a proud dad of two beautiful kids and a husband to my amazing wife. Both of my children go to school in the district and play soccer for our local club. I’ve also volunteered as a coach for the past three years because I believe strongly in giving back to the community.”

Jason comes from a hard-working Italian migrant family and was raised with strong values around family, hard work and respect. These are the same values he wants to pass on to his children.

“I’m standing because I want my kids to grow up in a safe community built around strong family values. I believe children should be allowed to be children, parents should have the primary responsibility for raising them, and schools should focus on education rather than ideological issues.”

Community safety is also a major priority. Jason believes police need stronger powers and greater support to do their jobs effectively, and that serious and repeat offenders need to face tougher consequences.

“Joining One Nation was an easy decision for me. I believe Australia has lost much of the common sense and traditional values that made this such a great country to raise a family.”

Jason believes Australians deserve representatives who tell the truth, stand by their convictions and aren't afraid to speak honestly.

I’m not here to play politics. I’m here because I want to make a difference for my family and my community. I want to see local businesses supported, our streets safer and our kids growing up in a community we can all be proud of.
