ABOUT US
Mark Burnside is a dedicated community advocate, experienced aged care hospitality leader, and proud family man who is committed to delivering practical outcomes for the people of Warrandyte.
Raised in rural Western Australia, Mark understands the values that communities are built on: hard work, resilience, and looking after your neighbours. Being a renter living in Warrandyte, he lives alongside you and is concerned about the same challenges faced by you, including rising household costs, infrastructure concerns, and the need for governments to listen to local people.
For more than three decades, Mark has built a successful career in aged care hospitality, leading teams, supporting residents and their families, and ensuring high standards of care and service. Through this work, he has developed a strong belief that leadership is about putting people first, listening to concerns, and delivering real solutions.
Mark is married and the proud father of two adult children. Family has always been at the centre of his life and has shaped his commitment to building safe, connected, and prosperous communities for future generations.
As a candidate for Warrandyte, Mark's focus is on addressing the issues that matter most to local residents. He is committed to advocating for the repairing of Warrandyte's deteriorating roads and potholes, improving local infrastructure, preserving our green wedges and parks and also advocating for the fast-tracking of safe secure footpaths in long forgotten suburbs of the Warrandyte electorate. He is seriously concerned about community safety with the current escalation in crime. He feels if he does not speak up and stand up who will?
“As a victim of crime, I have seen the lack of resources in Warrandyte faced by our emergency services. It’s time the people of Warrandyte had a real voice in parliament to advocate on their behalf for real change”
