ABOUT US
Nikole Schellekens is a farmer, mental health social worker, small business owner, parent and community leader with more than 20 years of frontline and leadership experience across mental health, education and community services.
Together with her husband and two children, Nikole lives and works on their beef farm, continuing a connection to farming that spans generations on both sides of their family. She also provides mental health support to military veterans, runs a small business and works in education.
Born in Tooradin and having lived in the Bass electorate for most of her life, Nikole brings a strong understanding of the communities, industries and challenges that shape the region. She believes strong representation requires integrity, accountability and the courage to stand up for the interests of the people you represent.
“Good representation starts with listening. It means understanding the issues that matter to people and making sure their voices are heard where decisions are made.”
Nikole is standing for One Nation because she is deeply concerned about Victoria's direction and what it means for future generations. She believes Parliament needs representatives with real-world experience and clear values, who will have difficult conversations, make decisions in the interests of the people they represent and remain accountable to them.
“People should expect their representative to listen, be accountable and speak up when it matters. That is the kind of representative I intend to be.”
For Nikole, building a better Bass means ensuring regional communities receive their fair share. Government must focus on easing cost-of-living pressures and delivering the essentials well, with roads, transport, health, housing and infrastructure that keep pace with growth, while protecting productive farmland, the environment and the rural character that makes Bass unique.
Good representation starts with listening. It means understanding the issues that matter to people and making sure their voices are heard where decisions are made.
