Peter Angelico is a manufacturer, business leader and long-standing advocate for Australian industry.

For more than four decades, he has built businesses, employed people and championed making things in Australia.

Peter’s connection to Hastings and the Mornington Peninsula spans generations. His maternal grandparents owned orchards in Tyabb, while his father and uncles established Angelico Bros. Orchards in Somerville in the 1950s.

A son of Italian migrants, Peter left school in Year 10 and began an electrical apprenticeship, learning early the value of hard work, determination and personal responsibility. His career has taken him from factory floors and construction sites to company boardrooms and meetings with senior government and industry leaders.

Peter is Founder and Managing Director of a Victorian manufacturer supplying Australian industry and major projects. He understands firsthand rising costs, skills shortages, regulation and global competition, and the responsibility of keeping people employed.

Since 2019, Peter has provided leadership to the South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance (SEMMA), working with government, industry and educators on manufacturing, apprenticeships, energy and sovereign capability. He also co-authored the SEMMA Manufacturing BLUEPRINT.

Peter believes leadership means accepting responsibility, making difficult decisions and being accountable. Four decades in business have taught him resilience and the importance of getting things done.

Peter is standing for Hastings to bring that practical experience to Parliament. From Langwarrin and Baxter to Somerville, Tyabb and Hastings, he wants to hear directly from locals about cost-of-living pressures, jobs and opportunities for young people, local infrastructure and services, and pressures facing families and small businesses. His focus is practical: listen, advocate strongly and work for better outcomes for the communities he seeks to represent.
