ABOUT US
Greg was born in Gippsland, was educated there and brought his family up in the region. He has always been passionate about regional Victoria and its history of providing food, power, timber and mineral resources not only for Victoria, but Australia.
Born to an Irish mother whose family migrated to Australia in the 1950, and an Australian father who served as a Spitfire fighter pilot in World War 2, Greg grew up appreciating the traditional Australian way of life. Apart from his time at Latrobe University studying to be a school teacher, Greg has always lived in Gippsland and he has witnessed the steady decline of the region, particularly in the last decade, under Labor.
Greg retired in 2017 after 24 years as a school teacher. Prior to this he ran his own full time business in tourism for 6 years, operated a public address system company for local and state bands for 20 years, and was an award winning bassist in a popular local cover band for 17 years, until the Covid closures.
Greg has witnessed the decline and devastation of Gippsland’s coal fired power industry and the steadily increasing cost of electricity in homes, small businesses and industry. His philosophy has always been not to passively stand by and observe a problem but to try and do something about it, if possible.
"One Nation proposes the construction of coal fired HELE (High Efficiency Low Emission) power stations. These will provide our state’s households, small businesses and industries with reliable, low cost, base load electricity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, they produce valuable industrial byproducts eg. urea, nitrogen, ammonia, hydrogen etc."
Greg is also passionate about responsibly reopening Victoria’s native timber industry. Besides providing a valuable source of regional employment, this will reduce the risk of catastrophic bushfires and enable a return to the national production of white paper, a resource currently imported from overseas. He also wants to see a return to return to the training of apprentices in a range of trades to overcome the predicted shortages of these in the next 5 years. Greg is seeking your vote to bring about and enable real, meaningful change to occur.
