One Nation Victoria Proposes Tougher Penalties for Illegal Dumping

Like other forms of crime, our failing Labor government has turned a blind eye to illegal dumping across Victoria. The problem is costing us more than $100 million per year. Under One Nation Victoria, this would end. We would introduce substantially increased fines and would crack down particularly hard on repeat offenders; we would also ensure that offenders are forced to pay for the clean-up and disposal costs.

As said by our leader, Warren Pickering: “Illegal dumping is just one symptom of a government that has lost control of the basics.”

Under our policy, individuals would face fines of $5,000 for a first offence, rising to $15,000 for a third offence, in addition to the full costs of clean-up and disposal. Commercial offenders would face even tougher penalties, starting at $100,000 for a first offence and rising to $300,000 and vehicle impoundment for a third offence, alongside full clean-up and disposal costs.
